The Big Reveal

We decided to tell our family and friends about our new surprise while Aydin was opening his presents. We planned to have Aydin open his "Big Brother to Be" shirt last and really surprise everyone. We also had our friend Mindy make some baby cookies who she thought were for someone at Dustin's office but were really for our big reveal. The plan worked perfectly and everyone was so shocked and excited for us. It was a perfect birthday party and surprise!!

5 weeks

We have now hit the 5 week mark and although you don't look much like a baby yet we know you are changing fast. I definitely feel like I am pregnant. I have been having bad lower back pain and feeling really nauseous all throughout the day. I don't really remember feeling this way with Aydin. I have been trying to make myself eat since I feel sick after everytime I do. It is hard but I know that it is best for the baby.

Happy 4th Anniversary!

It is our 4th wedding anniversary and we couldn't be any happier with our life. The past four years have been amazing and I have truly married my soul mate. Dustin is a wonderful husband and an amazing father. We just found out that we are expecting a new baby this thanksgiving and Aydin's 2nd birthday is only two weeks away. We are excited to see what lies ahead for our family!

I was telling Aydin that he was going to be a Big Brother while we were working on the shirt and he seemed to like the idea! I hope he still likes it when we have a crying newborn in the house!

We're Expecting Baby #2

March 17, 2010

Mommy was home with Aydin (due to his hurt leg) and had a feeling that she could be pregnant so we took a trip to the store to pick up a test. Once we got back home I took the test and it showed pregnant in under a minute. I was still shocked that it was positive since we hadn't really planned to have another baby yet; I guess Baby #2 had other plans for us!


I wanted to think of a fun way to tell daddy who would be meeting us in a couple hours to see the dr. for Aydin's leg. Our 4th wedding anniversary was the next day so I thought about wrapping up some baby stuff and giving it to him but really didn't think I could keep the surprise to myself much longer. I also really wanted to include Aydin in the surprise for daddy so we decided to make a shirt for Aydin and show daddy the "project" and see what he thought of it. Aydin loved working with the paint and putting his touches on the shirt. The first one didn't come out very well since Aydin loved the idea of smearing the paint everywhere.

Poor little man!

Aydin hurt his leg while playing at Monkey Bizness for a birthday party for his friend Dalton. He wouldn't put any weight on it so we decided to take him to the ER and have x-rays. They couldn't find any breaks but said it could be fractured so they put him in a splint which he had on for four days. We brought him to an orthopedic surgeon and he couldn't figure out why Aydin still didn't want to put pressure on his leg. Finally a week later we found a pediatric orthopedic surgeon who knew exactly what it was; a stress fracture of his tibia. It took 3 full weeks to heal but he is doing much better now! We are very thankful that he is much better and so is he. Here is a video of him at the dr. before we took off the splint.

Aydin's Language

Aydin has his own language for some words and we think it is so funny. His favorite addition to all food is ketchup. He absolutely loves it; which I do too so I think I know where he gets it from! Here is a cute video courtesy of Mimi. We love our silly little man!

We were married on March 18th 2006 in Lafayette, Louisiana. We made the big decision to move to Spring TX in 2007 for work and love it here. There is so much to do here and we love it. We became pregnant with our first baby in August of 2007 and he was born on March 28, 2008. He is such a great little boy. He is so smart and sweet and really a momma's boy. Having a toddler is really a big job but he is so much fun! We are excited about the changes that we are experiencing!
