10 Weeks

Today marks 10 weeks through this pregnancy with Baby #2. I am excited to be closer to the second trimester! Hopefully once we reach 12 or 13 weeks my nausea will get better and I won't feel so tired all the time. It is alot harder to rest with a toddler in the house. I remember when I was pregnant with Aydin I would be asleep almost the minute I got back home from work until my husband would get home. We are getting closer to being able to find out the gender of this new baby. We found out with Aydin at our 18 week anatomy ultrasound so in less than 2 months we will be able to find out if this new baby is another boy, which we would be ecstatic about since boys are so much fun, or a new little girl. We don't really know how we feel about having a baby girl yet, we hear so many stories about how little girls can be a bit sassy. I think it would be fun to play dress up with a baby girl but having Aydin I see how sweet little boys can be so either way we will be overjoyed.

The statistics for this week show that the baby is a little over an inch long (size of a kumqhat) and weighs less than a quarter of an ounce which seems so so small! By now the baby has completed the most critical portion of development and is now beginning the fetal period where the tissues and organs start to grow rapidly. I have another doctor's appointment schedule next week since I had pre-term labor with my last pregnancy at 29 weeks and my water broke at 36 weeks they want to monitor that more closely this time around. Here's to another week down and 30 more to go....

Meeting Baby Christian

Today we got to meet Baby Christian McDuffie. We loaned the McDuffie's Dustin's truck to take home since they missed their flight from Houston back to Lafayette and had been traveling for over 24 hours from China. They just wanted to be home as would we! We decided to meet up for lunch in Beaumont to pick the truck up and meet the new family member, who is also our godson. We are so blessed to be his godparents. He is such a cute, happy little boy. Thank you Alicia and Charles for asking us to be the godparents to this special little boy. His birthday is just 4 days after Aydin so I know they will be great friends! We got to spend some time with him and he was so friendly and showed his sweet personality. We can't wait to spend some more time with him. We look forward to celebrating your baptism soon sweet baby Christian! Christian with Parrain Dustin

9 Weeks

Baby #2 is measuring at 9 weeks today at the ultrasound so I figured I would add an update of the stats. This is the update I got from Baby Center. Our baby is nearly an inch long and about the size of a grape and weighs just a fraction of an ounce. The baby is starting to look more human and the embryonic tail is completely gone replaced by the baby's legs and feet. The baby's heart has now divided into four chambers and the valves start to form. The baby's earlobes, nose, and mouth are more distinct. It is awesome to see how much change takes place in a few short weeks.

I have been feeling about the same as every week before. I am pretty nauseous all day and feel really tired once the afternoon comes. I am hoping this will subside once I make it to the second trimester in about 3 weeks.

Doctor's Appointment - 9 Weeks

Today was my second doctor's appointment. We had to have an exam and take tons of blood for bloodwork. We also went over my medical history and got to have another peek inside with the ultrasound machine. This was the best part of the visit.

When we had the ultrasound two weeks ago baby #2 was measuring just a day behind what my calculations showed and this time baby measured a couple days before which means he/she is growing wonderfully. The calculations show that we are 9 weeks today and the due date shows 11/23/10.

Baby #2 had a strong heartbeat at 176 bpm. It was so great to hear that sound! We are very greatful that things are going well. Until next time....

Bluebonnets

We decided to go check out the bluebonnet fields this weekend. This is the best time of year for their growth. We drove about an hour away to Brenham Texas. The fields are beautiful. The kids had a great time.

8 Weeks

Baby #2 is about the size of a Kidney bean now. It is crazy to think that something so small can change the way you feel so much. I have been feeling pretty nauseous all day long now and pretty tired most of the time too. I was also really tired with Aydin but didn't feel so nauseous all day long. Does that mean this baby is a girl?? Hmmm....I guess we will see in about 2.5 months. We really don't have a preference either way. Boys are so much fun and so loving but it would also be fun to have a little girl too; but oh so much more expensive too!!! Haha. I have another ultrasound on Tuesday so we will get to see how baby #2 is growing.

7 weeks

Baby #2 is 7 weeks today and growing rapidly inside my belly. Our little one is now the size of a blueberry and looking more like a baby than the last couple weeks of pictures. It's weird to me that something so small can change your body so much. I am still feeling nauseous throughout the whole day and also have been having more back pain and can smell so much more which probably makes the nausea worse. I am excited to have another week behind us and look forward to feeling better once my body gets used to these hormones again.

First Doctor's Appointment

We had our first doctor's appointment today! We didn't do too much at this visit. We went over our family history and daddy made it in time for the ultrasound. The baby was measuring just a day off of what we thought which is good. We got to see the heartbeat which was 130 beats per minute. The dr. said the baby is looking great so far. We scheduled another appointment for two weeks from today where we will have another ultrasound and also do bloodwork and see the doctor. We can't wait to see the baby again and see how it is growing.

6 weeks

Today marks the passing of 6 weeks of pregnancy. The baby is starting to look more like a baby than it did a week ago. We still have a long time to go! I have been feeling sick more throughout the day and really cold all the time. The backache isn't as bad this week though. I make myself eat the three meals a day but it is hard because I feel so sick after I eat. This is not a fun part of pregnancy and I didn't feel this way with Aydin. I hope we get past this stage soon.
